Covid-19 Autumn 2023 vaccination
GP practices can offer a Covid-19 autumn booster to the following groups:
- all adults aged 65 and over
- persons aged 16 to 64 years in a clinical risk group
- persons aged 16 to 64 years who are household contacts of people with impaired immune systems
- pregnant women
- persons aged 16 to 64 who are carers, ie those in receipt of a carer's allowance, or who are the main carer of an older or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill
- frontline health & social care workers.
12-15 year old household contacts of a person with an impaired immune system must organise their Covid vaccine at Trust vaccination centres www.nidirect.gov.uk
Where a patient is a household contact of a patient with an impaired immune system not registered with us, then we need their letter to verify our records.
Vaccination Clinics
This year we are holding vaccination clinics at our surgery on Level 1 in the new Lisburn PCCC at the Lagan Valley Hospital site. Eligible patients are being invited to attend a vaccination clinic starting October 2023 by text or letter - they should contact us between 2.30 and 5.30pm (except Wednesdays) to book their appointment for vaccination.
The seasonal flu vaccine will be offered at the same time as the Covid-19 vaccination.
When attending a vaccination clinic, please be sure to adhere to the following:
- do not attend if you have been asked to isolate or are unwell in any way
- arrive at your exact appointment time
- ready access to both upper arms
- please complete the consent form and bring it to your appointment
- please be mindful that there will be an increased volume of traffic during vaccination periods which cause additional delay.
