GPs and their wider team need time to give patients the best care they possibly can. You can help free up time for those who really need expert advice by considering three alternatives before booking an appointment. Find out more

Bogus callers

The Practice has been informed by the Health & Social Care Board that some patients have been contacted by 'bogus callers' claiming to be linked to the Practice in order to sell products or extract financial information including bank details.  Some bogus callers have asked questions about medical conditions and current medication.

If you receive a call of this nature, DO NOT disclose any personal information and contact the surgery immediately.

Private Fees and Special Medical Examinations

A fee will charged for non-NHS medical certificates and certain examinations (eg insurance claims, employment medicals, driving licenses, passport applications, holiday cancellation forms).  For a comprehensive list of charges, please ask at the Reception desk.

Please mention when booking an appointment if you require a medical examination for insurance purposes, driving licences, employment etc, as these require a longer appointment.

HGV/PSV medicals require advance notice and a double appointment with a GP.  It is good practice to have the section about vision completed by your optician.

School Exams

National guidance states that 'a medical certificate is not necessary when making an application for special consideration where a candidate misses an exam or their performance is affected by a temporary illness/injury.  As long as the school/college supports the application for special consideration this is sufficient evidence'.
