IMPORTANT NOTICE - SEASONAL FLU VACCINATION
The seasonal flu vaccination programme has been extended to people aged between 50 and 64 years before 31 March 2021. We would encourage you to have your flu vaccination in light of the present Coronavirus pandemic.
To ensure the safety of all patients and staff and to abide by Government guidelines on social distancing, our flu vaccination clinics are held outside of the Lisburn Health Centre.
A flu clinic for this group of patients will be held on Saturday 23 January 2021 at the Lisburn Free Presbyterian Church Hall, 1 Windermere Road, Lisburn BT28 2GY.
Please contact us between 2.00pm and 5.30pm (except Wednesday) on 028 9260 3090 to book your appointment for flu vaccination.
Patients attending the clinic must adhere to social distancing and sanitisation procedures as outlined on the Seasonal Flu Programme page of this website (see side panel).
The Practice will be closed for doctor and staff training on Thursday afternoon 28 January 2021 from 1.00pm.
Should you have an urgent medical problem during that time please contact Lagandoc Out of Hours Service on 028 9260 2204.
We are aware that many people are interested in the COVID-19 vaccination and want to assure you that we are working through a priority list set by the Department of Health. Please do not contact your GP about getting the vaccine. We will contact patients in order of priority.
During the Covid-19 pandemic we continue to provide general medical services. However, we cannot offer advanced booking for routine appointments. All face-to-face appointments are booked after telephone triage with a GP.
We now provide a daily telephone triage service with routine calls logged between 8.30am and 12.00pm, urgent calls thereafter. If appropriate, you may receive a call back from a GP or be given other relevant advice.
The GPs have directed Reception staff to ask all patients for an overview of their medical problem to help determine the best course of action to help them.
We are constantly updating and streamlining our systems in response to a rapidly evolving situation. We can forward sick lines to your mobile phone and arrange video consultations where necessary.
Patients attending surgery
To ensure the safety of our patients, staff and GPs, you should NOT visit the surgery unless you have been told to by a member of Reception, a nurse of a GP.
If you are asked to attend the surgery, please arrive at your exact appointment time and not earlier for your own safety and that of others as we are trying to limit the number of patients in our waiting area at any one time.
You will be asked to wash your hands in warm, soapy water before entering the waiting area.
If you are attending an appointment with the Practice Nurse, please wear clothing that will enable quick access to your arm so that she can conduct your vaccination, bloods or BP check quickly and efficiently.
Coronavirus - Face Coverings
Since 10 August 2020 the use of face coverings in certain indoor settings, such as shops or shopping centres, has been mandatory.
We ask that you wear a face mask or covering for your appointment with a GP, the Practice Nurse or the Treatment Room.
Information on NI Direct states that 'There is no need to get a letter from a doctor or government to show that you do not need to wear a face covering. If you have a condition which means you cannot wear a face covering you only need to say, if asked, that you cannot wear a face covering because you are exempt'.
Further details are available at https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/coronavirus-covid-19-face-coverings
Please do not collect prescriptions at Reception. During the current Coronavirus pandemic, all prescriptions should go to a nominated chemist.
If you need a repeat prescription, please use our 24 hour repeat prescribing line (028 9260 4341) and ensure you provide the name of your preferred chemist along with your name, date of birth, telephone number and medication you wish to order.
